Should I choose on-grid or hybrid solar?

On-grid offsets daytime units through net metering. Hybrid adds battery backup when outages matter.

On-grid is the default when the grid is stable and the goal is bill offset. Excess generation is exported under the DISCOM’s net-metering rules.

Hybrid adds a battery so critical loads can run during an outage. It costs more per kW and needs a load list for inverter and bank sizing.

Off-grid is a separate design when there is no reliable grid. The questionnaire on this site points to a planning configuration only.
